Coke oven masonry, made of refractory bricks, faces mechanical forces during coking. Without protection, the bricks become loose and deformed, weakening their structure. Protection equipment strengthens the masonry, maintaining its tightness and integrity for normal operation.

During oven drying, masonry expands unevenly. Protection equipment counters this unevenness, ensuring the masonry’s integrity. In normal production, it reduces harmful effects from mechanical forces like coal loading and coke pushing, maintaining the structural strength of industrial coke ovens.

Expansion Monitoring Points

Monitoring points are set at horizontal elevations like upper and lower horizontal iron. Steel wires fixed along these points measure the total expansion value. Annual expansion rates, calculated from these measurements, help assess the current state and aging trend of the coke oven.
