Coke oven door repair

At present, the machine side and coke side oven doors of coke ovens mostly use suspended air-cooled oven doors, elastic blades, and spring door bolts. The advantage of this furnace door is that the furnace door alignment position has good repeatability, and the elastic knife edge can always maintain a certain pressure, effectively preventing smoke and fire from the coke oven door. During the production process, the elastic blade will be damaged due to collisions during operation and mechanical wear, resulting in smoke in the bolt holes of the brick grooves. The blade edge web of the furnace door may cause fatigue cracking or welding due to the removal and installation operations of the furnace door. Therefore, the furnace door must be maintained and repaired regularly.

In the existing technology, the overall overhaul of the furnace door mostly adopts the “disassembly and assembly” repair method.

The method includes the following steps:

  • Lift the oven door out and place it on the inspection rack.
  • Clean the furnace door brick groove and lining bricks.
  • Rotate the furnace door 180° and loosen the coke oven door body connecting bolts and brick groove connecting bolts.
  • Lift off the furnace door slide plate and knife edge web.
  • Inspect the brick trough, furnace door rib plate, knife edge web plate, and slider; adjust the corresponding pressing seat and tighten each connecting bolt.
  • Rotate the furnace door 180° again, clean the furnace door groove and build the coke oven door lining bricks, repair the knife edge, adjust the corresponding pressing seat, and hoist the coke oven door back to its original position.

During maintenance using this method, all parts of the coke oven door can be inspected, and the inspection is relatively comprehensive. However, in most cases, since the brick grooves and lining bricks are not easily damaged, a comprehensive repair of the furnace door is unnecessary. Moreover, the installation process of the furnace door lining bricks is complicated, inefficient, and consumes a lot of raw materials and power energy. For example, no protective measures are taken for the furnace door brick groove during the maintenance process. After the brick trough is separated from the furnace door body, the connecting bolts between the chute and the brick trough will loosen and shift. It is extremely difficult to align the position during installation, causing the overall sealing of the furnace door to be loose, making the installation process labor-intensive and inefficient.

Therefore, it is very necessary to research and develop a furnace door maintenance method that has protective measures for the furnace door groove and lining bricks, can effectively reduce labor intensity, and is simple to operate.

This article describes a more efficient method of repairing furnace door. It differs from common methods in that. After exporting the furnace door to the inspection frame, use temporary fixings to securely connect the furnace door body and the brick trough, and then loosen the furnace door body connecting bolts and the brick trough connecting bolts. Then disassemble, inspect and reinstall the knife edge and knife edge web. Wait until the coke oven door body connecting bolts and brick groove connecting bolts are retightened before removing the temporary fixings.

Since the furnace door body and brick grooves are not dismantled during maintenance, the quality of maintenance can be ensured by overhauling the blade edge and blade web parts that are often easily damaged. At the same time, since there is no need to clean and reinstall the lining bricks, there will be no relative displacement between the brick grooves of the Door For Coke Oven body during the maintenance process, which facilitates the alignment, restoration and installation of the disassembled parts. It can also shorten the maintenance time and reduce maintenance costs, and is especially suitable for use during overhaul of coke oven doors.

Coke oven door repair methods include the following steps:

Step a: Export the coke oven door to the inspection rack;

Step b: Use temporary fixings to securely connect the furnace door body and brick trough to each other, and then loosen the furnace door body connecting bolts and brick trough connecting bolts.

Step c: Disassemble, inspect and reinstall the knife edge web;

Step d: Retighten the brick groove connecting bolts and the coke oven door body connecting bolts, remove the temporary fixings in step a, and then inspect the blade.

Step e: Adjust the corresponding pressing base and hoist the coke oven door back to its original position.
